Carol’s Classes
Monday 9:30am-11:00am Easy Yoga
This class is suitable for beginners and over 50s, no yoga experience is need.
We starting laying on our backs in a cool dark room, focus is on slow calm breathing. Then we start to move the body gently followed by abdominal strengthening exercises. Then we do a series of yoga poses to stretch and strengthen the whole body. We finish the class with relaxation, (Savasana) focus is on relating every muscle in your body, letting go of your thoughts and allowing yourself to completely let go.
A beautiful class which will leave you feeling calm and relaxed.
Tuesday 9:30am-11:00am; Sunday 10:30pm-12:00noon General Yoga
Suitable for fit healthy people, some yoga experience is required. This class is all about strengthening and stretching the whole body deeply.
Starting in either a seated or laying position we bring our focus to our breath then we begin breathing exercises (Pranayama). Then, abdominal strengthening work followed by a series of stretching poses to loosen up the body. We then come to our standing poses designed to strengthen the legs, buttock, arms and abdomen. After some seated poses, we do back strengthening and stretching poses. Finely we come into Savasana complete relaxation.
A physical class that will leave you feeling as though you worked hard and had a good deep stretch.
Tuesday 11:15am-12:30pm; Wednesday 9:00am-10:15am Easy Chair Yoga
This class is the perfect place to start if your balance needs work, or you find it difficult to do regular exercise. We will start seated on a chair, first we do a deep breathing practice (pranayama) belly breathing then we will warm up with some gentle movement, then we stretch the body while seated. Then we stand up holding the chair for support while we do some modified Yoga poses. At the end of the class we lay down on the floor and do some more gentle stretching and some abdominal strengthen. We finish in relaxation (Savasana)
This is a class designed for people with difficulties in balance and for the over 60’s who need to get stronger.
Tuesday 6:00pm-7:15pm; Wednesday 10:30-11:45am; Sunday 9:00am-10:15am Foundation Yoga
A class suitable for regular students as well as beginners. I recommend this class for anyone getting back into Yoga or just getting back into shape.
We start with breathing exercises(Pranayama), slow calm deep breathing as well as letting go of our day. Then we move into poses that stretch and strengthen the body paying special attention to the abdomen. Coming to stand we then start to work a little harder doing standing and balancing poses followed by seated poses and then back bends, focus on slowly strengthening the back muscles as so many people have lower back issues. Finishing the class with stretching poses followed by Relaxation (Savasana).
A great class for all, you will leave feeling stretched and relaxed.
